Our bioanalytical laboratory in Assen is a highly specialized, GLP-compliant facility offering a wide range of bioanalytical services to global pharmaceutical partners, from early drug discovery to Phase IV clinical studies. Our mission is to provide precise quantitative and qualitative analyses of drugs and biomarkers in biological matrices using cutting-edge techniques, including LC-MS/MS, ligand-binding assays (ELISA), qPCR, and flow cytometry.
Our growing team of bioanalytical scientists brings expertise across diverse fields, covering small molecules, peptides, cells, and proteins—such as antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates, oligonucleotides, vaccines, and nanoparticles.
Ardena is expanding its bioanalytical services with a new laboratory in Oss that was opened in the first quarter of 2025. We’re looking for an experienced and talented:
Scientist Immunochemistry – ligand binding assays (32-40 hours)
As an (Associate) Scientist Immunochemistry you will contribute to the establishment and growth of our new state-of-the-art laboratory, which focuses on advanced analytical testing for small and large molecules. You will oversee the development and validation of ELISA and ECL-based methods, with a special focus on troubleshooting and technical refinement - especially using the Meso Scale Discovery (MSD) platform.
Your key responsibilities
- Design, develop and validate immunoassay methods (ELISA, MSD), emphasizing troubleshooting and assay optimization.
- Perform advanced analytical testing on large molecules using in-house developed MSD and ELISA methods.
- Serve as a technical expert for immunoassay methods, by providing technical expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing MSD and ELISA methods.
- Manage and optimize use of laboratory instruments with a focus on the MSD platform.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing analytical methodologies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and maintain thorough documentation.
- Mentor and train junior staff, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Assen and other Ardena sites to support client projects and timelines.
Your profile
- A MSc degree in a biomedical (related) field or at least 5 years of method development experience.
- Many years of hands-on experience with MSD and ELISA methods, which make you the go-to person for these techniques.
- Extensive experience in developing, validating, applying and troubleshooting MSD and ELISA methods in bioanalysis.
- Experience in data analysis and interpretation.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior staff.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (GLP, GMP, or ICH/FDA/EMA guidelines).
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Fluent in Dutch (preferred) and English.
