For the Ardena branch based in Mariakerke (Gent, Belgium), we are looking for an experienced
ACCOUNTANT-CONTROLLER
We are looking for a finance professional who is eager to develop their career and take on a Controller role. The position combines responsibility for the control and coordination of the monthly closing process with a strong analytical focus, supporting the business through financial analysis and insights. You will report to the Finance Director of the Drug Product division.
Your responsibilities:
Full A-Z responsibility for general and analytical accounting
Primary point of contact for financial matters within the business unit
Collaborate with local external advisors on matters such as subsidies and taxation
Perform monthly and annual closings
Prepare annual accounts, tax, and legal filings (VAT, Intrastat, statistics)
Customer follow-up, supplier payments, and payroll-related entries
Support the annual financial audit
Assist in budget preparation, tracking, and variance analysis
Prepare and maintain short- and medium-term cash flow forecasts
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
Actively and continuously seek procedural improvements to maintain the quality and integrity of financial data, in close collaboration with Corporate Finance
Profile
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an economic or financial field
At least 5-6 years of relevant experience
Experience in analytical accounting and working in an international environment is a plus
Excellent command of both Dutch and English (spoken and written)
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Proactive team player with a solution-oriented mindset
Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
Resilient, flexible, and results-driven
IT-minded, proficient in ERP systems and Excel. Previous experience with Business Central (BC) is a plus.
