For the Ardena Business Unit based in Somerset (US), we are looking for an Associate Director, Scientific Marketing & Commercial Operations.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
YOUR ROLE
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Director of Scientific Marketing & Commercial Operations to join our global CDMO/CRO organization. This role is pivotal in shaping and executing our go-to-market strategy, optimizing commercial performance, and enabling sustained growth through impactful marketing and sales operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is an inspirational leader with a proven ability to drive results with compassion and passion. They will possess strong business acumen, bring deep experience in marketing and commercial enablement, and thrive in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, and client-centric environment.
The Marketing and Commercial Operations Associate Director will also be a critical link between our scientific, operational, sales, program management and legal teams. This role is responsible for identifying and shaping service offerings based on internal capabilities and market needs and translating these into impactful marketing and sales tools that drive business growth.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bridge Science and Business: Collaborate closely with scientists, project managers, and business development to understand capabilities, project insights, and innovation potential. Develop and lead commercial operations and marketing strategy in alignment with global business objectives.
- Cross-Functional & External Collaboration: Cultivate strong partnerships across global functions including R&D, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, and HR to ensure seamless commercial execution.
- Content Creation & Communication: Translate scientific and operational insights into high-quality marketing and sales materials, including: presentations, white papers, info sheets, webinars, website content.
- Pricing: Lead efforts to develop and maintain a pricing process and associated tools to ensure quick turnaround time and accurate quotes aligned with business profitability requirements. Develop pricing strategy for both development and commercial programs to maximize win rates and margins. Help prepare and participate in key customer contract negotiations by working with the Sales team, Program Management team and ELT members.
- Quoting: Manage the day-to-day activities by the proposal writing team. Ensure proper mechanisms are in place to engage cross-functional as needed to complete quotes for customers. Collaborate with BD team and PM team to prioritize efforts and strategies on the quote structure.
YOUR PROFILE
- Master’s degree is required with 6+ years of progressive experience in marketing and commercial operations, preferably within the biopharma, CDMO, or life sciences sector. PhD in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or related field; MBA or marketing experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of drug development and CDMO services
- Demonstrated success in leading commercial strategy, campaign development, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Deep understanding of the drug development lifecycle and B2B marketing within a highly regulated environment.

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a natural ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
- Up 25% international travel
